New global young reader emphasis in events
WAN-IFRA is putting an increased emphasis on assuring that young readership development is considered at both its highest level events and in new regional arenas. Instead of a World Young Reader Conference in 2011, we will add a strong young reader component to our major annual global events. At IFRA Expo in Vienna (October 10 to 12), there will be a special young reader advisory team and booth. This effort will continue through the World Newspaper Congress and World Editors Forum, October 12 to 15. In addition, for the first time, the World Young Reader Prizes will be presented at the annual World Young Reader Round Table, set for 12 October. Find details about all those events at http://www.wan-ifra.org/. In 2012, we will continue to emphasize bringing message about the importance of engaging the young to our other events, especially in our regions, starting with the Asian WAN-IFRA Young Reader Summit. Look for more details at http://www.wan-ifra.org/youngreader. You can find out more about all of our young reader actions from Aralynn McMane, Executive Director of Young Readership Development, aralynn.mcmane@wan-ifra.org More
