WAN Capital Markets Day 2007

The chorus of disapproval for newspapers is certainly a global trend these days, as many media commentators have become profoundly bearish and negative about newspapers.

But their views are belied by the facts about the relevance, vibrancy and future vitality of newspapers in this fast-growing digital age.

To set the record straight, WAN has launched a global initiative to promote the power of the newspaper and to rectify some of the absurd and damaging claims being made about its imminent demise.

WAN’s first Capital Markets Day, held in London on 8 May 2007, was part of this effort. Below you will find the presentation made by Gavin O’Reilly, President of WAN, to investors, media analysts and correspondents, that present the facts, not the myths, about newspapers.
