The World Association of Newspapers together with Telenor

organised a study trip to the world’s most mobile-enabled

market.

The visit, hosted by Telenor, one of the world’s leading telecommunications companies, provided newspaper executives with an opportunity to examine how mobile communications are set to revolutionise the newspaper industry.

The programme included:
  Case studies of successful and profitable news and information services drawn

from across the world;
  An explanation of how telecommunications systems will develop and how newspapers

can exploit these developments;
  An examination of alternative business models, for maximising audiences and

revenues.

The venue
Telenor’s headquarters, inaugurated in July 2002, was the venue for the event. Telenor is situated at Fornebu, outside Oslo, facing Oslofjord. Designed as Scandinavia’s leading workplace for innovation, it is a showcase for flexible working methods and modern office architecture. Telenor also houses an impressive art collection by world renowned, international contemporary artists.
