SFN Partners about the strategic partnership with WAN

manroland

“manroland and WAN have been strategic partners since 1999. It is a mutually fruitful partnership: manroland supports the SFN project as well as the efforts of WAN to strengthen the printed newspaper and the freedom of the press worldwide. Together we launch numerous activities to increase creativity, innovations and business success of the printed newspaper. manroland benefits sustainable from the SFN partners’ network which is a value adding partnership along the whole newspaper production chain and from the possibility to address its thoughts to international publishers and top managers of the industry. We thus get the chance to adapt and connect our production technology to successful newspaper concepts and innovations. Moreover, there are precious impulses for our R&D and product development.”

Corporate Marketing & Communications

UPM

UPM has since many years an excellent partnership with WAN in the project of `Shaping the Future of Newspapers (SFN)`. We see our business in a much wider scope than the production and selling of paper only. New technologies are widening the variety of media consumption and the printed media has to adjust quickly in content and design in order to meet high expectations from actual and potential new and young readers.

The WAN partnership offers us a platform to communicate with experts from different business angles but with the same strategic questions: How is the media world changing?
The outcome of many fruitful discussions is part of our future strategy, which is determined by a strong responsibility for printed media.

WAN Congresses for different topics all over the world offer us a great opportunity to meet publishers, advertisers and journalists. Most of them are our customers and we can even deepen our relationship and improve our business understanding.
