The Festival of European Films was first organized in 1995 to present remarkable Turkish and European films to the cinephiles in various cities. As a member of European Coordination of Film Festivals, the festival visits different cities to present its program during four weeks. During the past years, the Festival has visited Ankara, Bursa, Çanakkale, Diyarbakir, Drama (Greece), Eskisehir, Gaziantep, Istanbul, Izmir and Mersin. Traditionally, the Turkish and foreign guests of the festival are hosted in Bursa, the old capital of the Ottoman Empire, near Istanbul. It is a real festival with colorful evenings, Turkish hospitality and the specialties of Turkish cuisine.
