World Editor & Marketeer Conference and Expo

Athens, Greece, - November 2005

PROF-MEDIA LTD
The Athens conference appeared absolutely fantastic with regard to all components - content, speakers and organization. It was the most informative and comprehensive and educative event as compared to all previous E&M conferences. Presentations - like corresponding SFN reports and full stories of re-design of Le Monde, The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal and many others - were extremely useful and helpful. The professional effectiveness of the whole event is very high, I believe. I congratulate you and all WAN staff with this event and hope Paris conference in Feb will be the same success.

"What a privilege to be involved with such a great organization and the opportunity to meet so many others in the newspaper industry. To present before over 450 newspaper individuals from all around the world and to speak about the common denominator that we all share, publishing / packaging information and the importance of becoming diversified, was very exciting for me."

I had excellent conversations with a number of people following my presentation in regards to publishing reader’s photographs / books and event ideas.

THE NEWSPAPER SOCIETY
"Many congratulations on another excellent Editor and Marketeer Conference. It’s hard enough to put together an event in one’s own home country for delegates speaking one language, let alone one catering for delegates from 60-odd countries, and this one seemed to go without a glitch. An organisational triumph, some very thought-provoking sessions and good contacts made."

A serious discussion about the return of the tabloid format and what it could do to the economics of the global newspaper industry was a perfect topic to wrap up WAN 2005, and Athens provided a terrific backdrop and an impressive audience for the debate
