    - An Asian case: Profitable launch of a daily newspaper - The Kom Chad Luek story, by Dr Thanachai Theerapattanavong.

    - Best circulation practice from around the world: a guide to successful sales and marketing strategies you can adopt to improve your circulation. Jim Chisholm, SFN Director.

  • Changing Formats: newspapers across the world are switching to tabloid, or 'compact', size, though this phenomenon has not yet swept Asia. Could it ? WAN reviews the key issues related to moving to a smaller format and looks at some examples of successful change:

    - A checklist for publishers who are considering format change: design, production, advertising, marketing. Eamonn Byrne, Deputy Director General.

    - An Asian case: Hardev Kaur, Group Editor of the New Straits Times in Malaysia, reports on the newspaper's recent launch of a compact edition of this historical broadsheet.
