2000 WAN ACTIVITY REPORT

At the 51st Annual General Meeting in June 1998, the WAN membership agreed to a two-year Action Plan with seven major objectives:

  • To improve the global press freedom situation
  • To expand and develop WAN's READY Project
  • To increase global newspaper reading
  • To increase WAN membership
  • To increase personal involvement
  • To develop cooperation with other organizations
  • To improve WAN's finances and resources

This activity report will give a broad picture of the activities undertaken over the year in pursuit of these objectives.
