WAN ACTIVITY REPORT
At the
51st Annual General Meeting in June 1998, the WAN membership
agreed to a two-year Action Plan with seven major objectives:
- To
improve the global press freedom situation
- To
expand and develop WAN's READY Project
- To
increase global newspaper reading
- To
increase WAN membership
- To
increase personal involvement
- To
develop cooperation with other organizations
- To
improve WAN's finances and resources
This activity
report will give a broad picture of the activities undertaken
over the year in pursuit of these objectives.
