Internet responsible for growth
By Mikael Marklund, Medievärlden.
The Internet is the locomotive as advertising investments continue to surge, according to IRM. For the third quarter, the Internet had 14 percent of the advertising pie, which totals over SEK 6.6 billion.
The Internet is still rapidly growing, and the high share is now becoming a sizable amount.
According to IRM's statistics, the market invested more than SEK 900 million in Internet advertising during the third quarter. This is 30 percent more than for the same period the previous year. Apart from this, there was no other increase in the media market during the third quarter.
Internet advertising has a 30 percent growth rate and is now up to about 14 percent of the overall advertising pie. This corresponds to what advertisers put into television or direct advertising.
Daily newspapers hold their positions due to the big city press increasing its advertising revenues by seven percent. Both the provincial press and evening tabloids are losing shares.
Purchases of advertising during the third quarter reached SEK 6.6 billion. For the first nine months, purchases amounted to SEK 22.3 billion, which is an increase of five percent compared to last year.
