• Description: An NIE initiative designed to give students insight into different countries and current events using the travel and general news sections of the paper. For 10 consecutive Thursdays, participating schools received the Passport Pack, which included 30 workbooks, online activity sheets and curriculum web links. The 28-page student workbook was used with weekly travel stories published in Thursday’s paper. Students could also complete the weekly online activity as homework.
 
• Audience: Primary and secondary students in 168 schools or approximately 5,040 students participated.
 
• Age group: 11, 12, 13, 14, 15
 
• Results: The average circulation of Thursday’s newspaper to schools has more than doubled.
