What is the World Editors Forum?

The World Editors Forum is the only network exclusively dedicated to senior newsroom editors from across the globe. In the Forum you can share ideas, experiences and research on how to face the challenges of the future. All over the world, editors are pursuing editorial excellence in the face of the emergence of new media, new technologies, changing readership lifestyles and squeezed budgets.

Are you curious as to how fellow editors at other papers in other countries inspire their staff? Do you want to stretch your editorial budget to publish both blockbusters and solid day-to-day coverage? Are you anxious about media convergence and how other editors are doing it? Are you confused about citizen journalism and what it means for your job as an editor? The World Editors Forum will help you find the answers to your questions. You can learn, teach and debate either in real time on our weblog (www.editorsweblog.org) or at the annual World Editors Forum.

Xavier Vidal-Folch, WEF President

"Societies, technologies and tastes develop rapidly. Those changes create challenges, opportunities and choices for editors who work with the written word. Please join the global conversation about promoting and defending quality journalism. The World Editors Forum is the meeting-place for editors to exchange experiences and expertise."

"Since 2003, the World Editors Forum has profoundly changed: the number of delegates at the annual forum has tripled, the Editors Weblog is read by 1,500 senior news executives on a daily basis and two years ago we began the World Editors Partnership Programme for editors from developing countries. It's time to join us!"
