POSTPONED TO EARLY 2011

WEF designed Study Tours to promote the culture of innovation in newsrooms. Each Study Tour gathers a small group of editors-in-chief to visit a selected country where innovation is the strongest in a particular domain. The Study Tours are designed so that editors can immediately apply their learnings upon returning to their newsroom. Our next edition will be held in the iberian peninsula :

Lisbon - Madrid - Barcelona

New concepts for print newspapers & Southern European integrated newsrooms

Book Now

The two latest print newspapers in Europe were launched in Portugal (I for Informacion) and in Spain (Publico). Today they are quite successful in a very difficult environment. The most intriguing point is that the two newspapers have focused their efforts on print, rather than on their websites. We will discover the formula for such success stories.
But it's impossible to go to Portugal and Spain without visiting strong quality news organisations. For instance, we will be hosted by El Pais, the first paid-for daily in the country and ABC, with its totally new integrated newsroom (since June 2010). We will finish the study tour in Barcelona where Cases I Associats is based for a thorough workshop on print resilience: a sort of synthesis of our study tour with more international examples of newsroom restructuring.

The programme :

Welcome dinner with the daily I editor or publisher
